Short Breaks at Short Notice

Caring for someone?  Can't leave them but need to be somewhere else at the same time?  Need a rest?

Whether you want to spend some time with friends, have a break away, or would just like some time to yourself, Short Breaks at Short Notice may be able to help you to have a break from caring.

Short Breaks at Short Notice is a service for people who care for an older person (65 years of age or over) or someone aged between 18 and 65 with a permanent physical disability or with learning difficulties.

When obligations or pleasant surprises arise, give us at least two working days notice and we'll arrange for a trained, experienced care-worker to temporarily take your place.  It's easy to do and it's free.  We'll ask you for a few details, and then make the arrangements for you.

We will use either Crossroads Caring for Carers or an independent agency, approved by Adult Social Services.  All Carers in Norfolk can have 48 hrs per year of free relief care with this scheme.

Just call Norfolk Carers Helpline free on 0808 808 9876 for more information or to book a Short Break at Short Notice.
