Board - Forum Rules
1. Be respectful
Please be considerate when you write about other people.
When you are writing about experiences that involve, family,
friends or other people who come into contact with you,
please consider carefully how what you write and post on the
board will impact on them before posting your message.
Consider how you will identify them (we will edit out names
and initials) to keep them and you anonymous.
We also want to ensure that you look after yourselves and
each other when you use the Message Board. We won’t allow
arguments between individual message boarders, bullying or
harassment. We will delete any messages that are harassing,
defamatory, abusive, threatening, obscene, profane, sexually
oriented, offensive, racist, homophobic or insulting to
people with disabilities, so please don’t post them.
2. Links to other websites
Information about other websites, specific URL's (web site
addresses) will be deleted. If you know a web site relevant
to the discussion topic, please recommend it by email to
norfolkcarers@hotmail.com if it’s not already
listed on our links page.
3. Your personal information
We understand that carers posting on the site may want
anonymity. Therefore it is OK to use pseudonyms for your
user name. For similar reasons it is also a forum rule that
you should not post your personal address, email or phone
number on the forums. Adopting an inappropriate user name
(one that is vulgar, offensive etc) is not acceptable.
Any posts containing addresses or phone numbers will be
deleted. We will allow major towns and cities; anything more
specific will be deleted.
However behind the scenes we do need you to register using
your genuine email address as we may block certain email
addresses that allow users to mask their true identity. This
allows us to deal more effectively with the volume of spam
postings the forum gets.
Crossroads Norfolk Carers Helpline will not pass on your
email address to anyone.
4. No images in the body of your message.
In order to keep the forum as easy to read as possible we do
not allow images in the body of your messages. Use of
smilies is allowed on the forum but only from the prescribed
set. Use of avatars is permitted subject to rules on size
and decency. Any unauthorised images will be removed.
5. Post in the right place
The forum is divided into categories so you should try and
make your post in the one that is most suitable. If you're
not sure where your post should go then put in the General
Discussion section. The moderators reserve the right to move
posts into other forum areas if they feel it is more
suitable.
6. Stick to the topic
Please try and keep to the thread’s original intention. We
do not want to stifle the creative flow of the conversation
but if a new topic evolves it is good practice to start
again in a new thread. Moderators reserve the right to
‘lock’ topics that go off thread.
7. No duplicate posts
Please do not post the same topic in different forum areas.
Duplicate posts will be deleted.
8. No excessive SHOUTING
SHOUTING is when people use all capital letters in their
posts. This only works when used sparingly. Please do not
use capitals to excess.
9. No advertising or commercial postings of any kind
10. Nothing unlawful or proposing any illegal activities
will be posted on the Board.
11 Do not violate copyright laws
You may not violate, plagiarise, or infringe on the rights
of third parties including copyright, trademarks, trade
secrets, privacy, personal, publicity or proprietary rights.
All material on this Message Board is the copyright of the
author and does not represent the views of Crossroads
Norfolk Carers Helpline.
12. Breaking of the rules
In most cases if a rule is broken a warning will be issued,
any further rule breaking may result in the person being
banned from the forum. In some cases a person may be banned
outright without warning. Any banning of a visitor is
binding and the decision is final, and no correspondence
will entered into nor will Crossroads Norfolk Carers
Helpline be obliged to explain such banning.
13. Complaints and reporting rule breaking
Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is
encouraged to contact us immediately by email on
norfolkcarers@hotmail.com |
