About Norfolk Carers
Helpline
Norfolk Carers
Helpline, managed by Crossroads – Caring for Carers, is part
of Norfolk Social Services’ response to the Carers
(Recognition & Services) Act, 1995. They funded the
project from its establishment in June 1996, initially for
two years as a 24 hr helpline. This was extended and the
Helpline continued in that format until July 2006, when, in
it’s eleventh year of service the Helpline changed to a
restructured service that provides a helpline for carers
from 8am - 8pm, Monday - Friday.
The Helpline is based in Norwich and the service is delivered by a small
team of fully trained Helpline workers, Helpline Leader, and
an Administrator. The Helpline is covered on a rota basis,
with handover periods and back-up support.
All calls to Norfolk Carers Helpline are
free and the service is friendly, personal and confidential
